Early Access to FHIR 6.0.0-ballot3
Aidbox now supports FHIR 6.0.0-ballot3, available in the FHIR Package registry. Check our tutorials for running it locally or in a sandbox. This gives you early access to upcoming FHIR standards for experimentation and testing. Moreover, your early testing helps the entire FHIR community — feedback during the ballot phase is invaluable to HL7.
System resources as DomainResources
We've migrated all Aidbox system resources to the FHIR DomainResource model. This change enables developers to extend system resources using standard FHIR extension patterns and improves compatibility with external tools.
Important Fixes & Improvements
- Transaction Bundles: Added conditional references resolution
- Validation: Fixed contained resources validation
- GraphQL: Fixed schema generation for system resources
- Security: Removed DB parameters from SQL logs
- UI: Improved FHIR packages and Resource browser
Medical Forms That Do More
Template-based extraction (preview)
The new template-based extraction allows you to transform QuestionnaireResponse resources into structured FHIR resources using predefined templates. You can generate FHIR resources from forms that match specific healthcare data requirements, reducing manual work and ensuring compatibility with clinical systems.
FHIRPath Expression Editor (preview)
Specialized editor for FHIR expressions with syntax highlighting, autocompletion, and error reporting. This low-code environment supports dynamic behavior, automatic calculations, data population, and named expressions for reusability.
FHIR 6.0.0-ballot3 compatibility
Forms now support FHIR 6.0.0-ballot3 standard version.
Security updates
Fixed vulnerabilities in versions 2503.3, 2502.6, 2501.8, and 2402-lts.
FHIR Schema transition
Aidbox is transitioning to the FHIR Schema engine. Zen and Entity/Attribute engines will be deprecated in August 2025, with LTS support available until July 2027. We recommend migrating to the FHIR Schema engine to ensure compatibility with future releases.
