Health Samurai is participating in the 2026 CMS and HL7 FHIR Connectathon, held virtually from July 14 to 16.
The team is testing Payerbox across three interoperability workflows required under CMS-0057-F, using implementations from other payers and technology vendors.
Electronic prior authorization
Testing covers the Da Vinci CRD, DTR, and PAS implementation guides. The workflow includes checking coverage requirements at the point of order, collecting supporting documentation within the provider's workflow, and exchanging prior authorization requests and decisions through FHIR.
Provider Access
The Provider Access API gives attributed providers access to their patients' claims, clinical, and prior authorization data through bulk FHIR exchange, without relying on manual payer portal lookups.
Payer-to-Payer exchange
The team is also testing how member data moves between health plans. When a member changes insurers, the new payer can request claims, clinical, and prior authorization history from the previous payer through FHIR.
